Do you know that in order to keep your rabbit’s teeth and tummies healthy they need to eat their own body weight in hay every day? That’s a lot of grass and hay so it needs to be good! Bedding hay is good to sleep on but lacks the nutritional values of feeding hay.

Burgess Excel Long Stem Feeding Hay is imported Timothy Hay grown on a Yorkshire farm in England, cut at the right time and dried within 48 hours. It is high in fibre which aids digestion, whilst the long stems of hay satisfy both chewing for dental health and natural foraging giving rabbits the emotional enrichment they need. It also comes in a resealable bag so there’s less mess and it’s nice and fresh right down to the last tasty stalk!

  • Stimulates chewing, good for dental health
  • High in beneficial fibre, promotes digestive health
  • Dust extracted for respiratory health
  • Encourages foraging, providing emotional enrichment
  • Fresh fragrance, irresistible to rabbits, guinea pigs, degus and chinchillas
  • 100% natural

Why Burgess Hay is so good

There are three parts to a Burgess Hay plant, all of which provide the ideal feed for herbivores. Hay for feeding small pets should contain approximately 7% protein and 30% fibre. Varieties such as Burgess Hay are better quality than Teff and Eragrostis hays in South Africa because they have a high fibre content, are more palatable and great for chewing and maintaining healthy teeth. Teff and Eragrotis hay in South Africa on the other hand is a softer, finer, less fibrous type of hay.

Feeding Tips

Burgess Excel Long Stem Feeding Hay is a complimentary feed for rabbits. It should be fed freely and provided fresh each day alongside Burgess Excel Nuggets. Always ensure clean fresh water is available.
